The first school at St. Teresa's was established in 1881 by Rev. W.M. Wigger, the inaugural pastor. Initially, the school was later converted into a convent, and the current school building was constructed in 1905. The Sisters of Charity provided dedicated staffing until 1972, after which lay staff managed the school until its closure in 1982 due to declining enrollment.

On September 10, 2001, the newly renovated building was repurposed as an Early Childhood Center. Extensive renovations were made to meet state licensing requirements and to create an inviting environment for preschool children. Additionally, the facility has been made handicap accessible, ensuring it accommodates all who use the space—both adults and children alike.
